Mila Kunis unveils bargain wedding ring: "we bought it on Etsy"

Earlier this week, Mila Kunis appeared on Conan to promote her new movie, Bad Moms, in which she stars alongside Kristen Bell.

However, as the 32-year-old actress fiddled with her wedding ring, Conan O’Brien’s attention was caught by the platinum band.

"It's not incredibly flashy,” he said, “which I think is cool."

Mila explained: "So my husband and I got married. He got me a beautiful engagement ring. Like, stunning, stunning, stunning.

"But for our wedding bands, for when we got married, I decided to just get them off Etsy," she continued.

"And so our wedding bands are from Etsy."

Conan praised the actress, who is expecting her second baby with husband Ashton Kutcher, for her “frugal” tendencies – which she laughed off as a polite way of calling her “cheap”.

However, while the low price was an added plus, Mila admitted that her reasons for shopping on Etsy were not inspired by budget restrictions.

In fact, her decision to browse the vintage and handmade marketplace came from a desire to find a ring that was truly special.

"I wanted the thinnest possible platinum band. It's super, super thin," she said. "And then I went and looked at [at the price of Tiffany and Co. wedding bands.]

“I was like, 'They're how much? This is astronomical.'

“So I went on Etsy and it was like, $90 [about £68], and I was like, 'Buy now!'"

Hey, you can’t put a price on love now, can you?

Mila also picked up Ashton’s wedding band on the site –albeit for a marginally higher price.

"[His] is $100," she said, "so technically his was a little bit more expensive than mine."

The actress, who recently sparked a debate on social media when she admitted that she doesn’t believe women can ever truly “have it all”, went on to praise the independent jewellery seller she purchased her ring from.

“[They] had no idea whose ring they were making but they were wonderful and very nice and polite and generous," she said.

And there’s no denying that Mila fell in love with the finished result – perhaps even more so than she is with her expensive fiva-carat diamond engagement ring.

She said: "My engagement ring is beautiful, but I don't ever wear it. This ring, I'm like, '$90!' It's great.”

The couple exchanged their (budget) wedding bands on the 4 July in 2015, after first meeting on the TV series That 70s Show when they were teenagers.

However their romance did not begin until years later – and, even then, it only ever began as a “friends with benefits” arrangement.

Speaking to Sirius XM, Kunis said, "We started dating with the idea we both were never going to get married. He had just got out of a marriage and I had gotten out of a relationship.

"But we were in agreement that it was just fun. And three months later, I was like, 'this isn't just fun anymore'."

The couple now have a daughter, Wyatt Isabelle, who will turn two on 1 October.
