One of spring/summer’s most important trends is soft romanticism, which emphasises femininity and a palette of warm, earthy and pastel tones. 

On the runways, fluidity and movement were key to this trend, with dresses highlighted as the most important item. And while the trend is great for summer occasions, how do we wear it day to day? According to Mango, the key is to pair romantic pieces with tougher, tailored pieces or sporty silhouettes to balance the look and make it work for the office, evenings and weekends.

Within the new Selection collection, silk and organza tops and dresses are styled with contemporary tailoring in an elegant edit that balances masculine and feminine silhouettes with a sophisticated but wearable aesthetic.

There is a considered mix of structured tailoring, romantic tops and dresses, statement leather jackets and sporty, technical leggings and jeans – all wrapped up in a neutral colour palette with touches of blush, camel and green. Leather jackets are worn over buttoned-up shirts and paired with sheer skirts. Silk tops are styled with tailored trousers and oversized bags and sheer tops are worn with fluid suiting. The fashion-forward collection was created in collaboration with stylist and creative consultant Malina Joseph Gilchrist and plays with the contrasts between boxy, structured jackets with more fluid fabrics.
