Madonna's iconic cone-shaped corset is set to go on display in London.

The piece from the singer's 1990 Blonde Ambition tour will form part of a an exhibition celebrating the works of Jean Paul Gaultier, the singer's longtime collaborator, at London's Barbican next Spring.

The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk will feature more than 140 pieces from Gaultier's personal collection, including couture and stage outfits.

As well as the Material Girl's memorable stage attire, the exhibition will include outfits worn by Kylie Minogue, Bjork and Dita Von Teese.

The Barbican said the show will be "an installation rather than a conventional fashion retrospective" and will include runway footage, music videos, films, dance performances and of course, Gaultier's cult late-night '90s TV show, Eurotrash.

Gaultier said he was happy the exhibition will take place in the UK, and paid tribute to his British fans.

"The English were the first ones to come to my shows and appreciate my fashion.

"I am super excited that the show is coming to London. If there is one place other than Paris that I should like to live in, it is London."

Tickets for the exhibition will go on sale in September.
