London Fashion Week’s spring/summer 2025 shows have just come to a close, with a huge number of designers – from rising stars to household names – showcasing next season’s trends. Yet, despite drastically different designs and contrasting styles from each label, the colour palette remained relatively consistent, albeit not quite the summer-ready shades we were expecting to see,

Traditionally, the summer collections include pastel-toned pieces, bright and bold accessories and flashes of fun-coloured co-ords, but the catwalks appeared to be leaning more into real-time dressing: perhaps the push of global warming is throwing our traditional sense of the seasons slightly off-kilter. So, we’ve been seeing lots of leather coats, shearling styles and dark-wash pieces in place of flip-flops and short sets, prompting us to reconsider our autumn outfits already.

This simply means there’s a greater amount of inspiration to turn to, and if you’re someone who shies away from vibrant shades, you’re in luck, as a deep, dark colour palette has been certified by the runway as the one to reach for. After all, if you’ve ever heard of the front-row crows, you’ll know all-black outfits are the fashion fan’s favourite shade.
