1. Half Pipe for bicycle kit
I seem to spend half my life cross-crossing the city my bike and Half-Pipe on Golborne Rd in west London is my one-stop shop for everything I need from helmet and lights to my kids' skateboarding paraphernalia to the once-in-a-blue-moon shiny-new birthday bike. (My wheels of choice: a white Marin Terra Linda, for now).
2. Rellick for vintage clothes
I'll always be a Portobello vintage girl at heart, and Rellik has long-been my favourite fashion treasure-hunting Mecca. I don't think I've ever left empty handed but the last thing I found was a Jean Muir silk rainbow-print dress which is about to be folded into my summer suitcase.
3. Lutyens & Rubenstein for books
I feel really guilty if I'm ever tempted to buy books online, and much prefer to daydream round my favourite local bookstore with my kids ..one for you, one for me.
4.http://theorchardcanteen.squarespace.com
The Orchard Canteen is a tiny new cafe in my neighbourhood which does the best takeout lunch boxes in town, though it's tempting to find a seat at the bar and stay a while.
4.George's Surf School for surfing in the UK
My kids and I are avid travellers, but its Cornwall that always calls us back. And that's mostly thanks to George Stoy and his seaside surfing magic-making. My top-tip for action-adventure holidays at home.
5. Oxfam for pretty much everything
I both donate and shop regularly at my local Oxfam stores. I don't hoard and love the idea of clothes having many long lives, and just about my favourite ear-rings ever cost £2.50 , fished out of a jam jar at an Oxfam counter.
6.Art Everywhere for bringing art to everyone
Just love the idea of city billboards switching from ads to art. The ultimate summer art project- everywhere and for everyone.
7. Honeyjam for toys and parties
(My kids' choice). Honeyjam in our house is synonymous with treats and birthdays and Halloween. I buy everything from party plates to train sets. Local and independent in its own (magical) world.
8. Eco-Age for fashion with a conscience
Livia Firth is a friend and inspiration and Eco-Age is a constant source of fashion facts and fantasies. The thinking woman's style guide.
9. The Tiny Box Company - for wrapping gifts
I order online and stock up on their recycled gift bags and boxes. I know the ideal would be to use old newspaper or no wrapping at all, but this is a chic compromise via an award-winning small business.
10. Folk for British fashion
I confess to a few French flirtations but I'm always proud to buy British. FOLK 's ethos and designs seduce in style. I used to buy FOLK for the boys, but their womenswear launched last year goes from strength to strength.
