Katie Holmes is single-handedly taking on the trickiest trends of 2019 and winning at all of them.
It’s been a while since we have been this invested in Katie Holmes. There was a time in our lives where every move the Dawson’s Creek actor made was vital to our emotional well-being: will Joey finally end up with Pacey?
Now all eyes are back on Katie Holmes, but for very different reasons, as she is making big moves when it comes to her wardrobe. And, to put it simply, we can’t get enough.
Holmes fashion choices have been so mesmerizingly brilliant, that the actor has been hilarious dubbed ‘cashmere bra influencer’, after she stepped out in New York’s Soho wearing that Khaite cashmere cardigan and matching cashmere bra.

It was this look that granted Holmes style icon status – a title that she continues to wear incredibly well (pun intended). It all started when the actor decided to step away from her stylist and reclaim her own wardrobe, and in all honesty, we have enthralled since. However, she reached ‘style icon’ status when she stepped out in New York’s Soho wearing that Khaite cashmere cardigan and matching cashmere bra.
If you thought that ‘cashmere bra influencer’ move was peak Katie Holmes, then last night’s look will floor you as much as it did us. Polka dot tights are not easy for even the most Saint Laurent of women to pull off, but naturally Holmes (with her new sartorial joie de vivre) made even the trickiest of trends look like a walk in the park.
Pairing her sheer polka dot tights with a satin LBD, a glossy blow dry and a slick of red lipstick, Holmes just gave us all the party dressing inspiration we need for the months to come.

In between these two iconic moments, we have been treated to a number of other fashion moments that have bolstered Katie Holmes to number one style icon of 2019.

Earlier this summer, Katie Holmes wore this Chloé dress and the entire fashion industry swooned in unison. And that’s before we even get on to her perfectly imperfect beach wave hair.

Loved by Meghan Markle, Rihanna and Kate Bosworth, fashion brand Gabriela Hearst delivers time after time on easy elegance. Holmes makes this matching blue two piece look as easy to wear as a pair of pyjamas.

No one does winter dressing quite like New Yorkers. Pulling together wardrobe basics in such an effortless way is no easy feat, nor is wearing a masculine wool coat with light-wash denim (trust me, I’ve tried to get this right for so long).

Let’s just call her queen of cardigans and leave it there.
