From Levi’s jacket and matching mini skirt to Agolde’s new Y2K inspired jeans in an eco dye, all of the cult new denim styles are indigo.
For a while, it’s been all about washed-out, vintage-look denim – and we’ve loved it. But this spring, deep indigo is back. Picture those rich, inky blues that make even the most casual outfits feel a little bit sharper. Whether you want to dress up your basics or give your evening looks a relaxed vibe, this darker wash is the easiest way to switch things up.
Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez and Bella Hadid have all been spotted wearing this saturated, dark wash style, and bootcut jeans look set to be a street-style favourite this season.
Citizens of Humanity – the brand behind those cult horseshoe jeans – has just launched an eco-friendly denim range, featuring the Winslow boyfriend jeans (a slouchy-but-chic straight-leg style). And Agolde’s V-waist baggy jeans have a cool criss-cross waistband and a deep, saturated wash too.

Karen Phelps, creative director at Citizens of Humanity, says: “The V-waist jeans balance edge with wearability. With a sharp, angled waistband that nips at the waist, a fitted top block and a relaxed straight leg, they offer an effortless, but adventurous silhouette, and with a hint of stretch, they’re designed for all-day comfort. Drawing inspiration from Y2K fashion, this style combines the sculpting effect of high-rise jeans with the bold attitude of low-rise, making them the ultimate statement piece for modern wardrobes.”
But it’s not just about jeans. Levi’s is going all in with a matching denim jacket and mini skirt, plus Bermuda shorts and a maxi skirt for a fresh take on the shade. Over at Aligne, its signature sleeveless waistcoat now comes in indigo, and John Lewis’s latest collab with Awake Mode has a matching denim set dropping this month.
If you’re after an easy wardrobe refresh, this is the denim move to make.
