Yellow is the colour of the season - but have you fully embraced it?

From statement sunglasses to key interior design pieces, there’s a little yellow for everyone.

Whether you want to go full-on with an all-over yellow look, or simply add a touch of the bright hue to your life with an accessory, our fashion team have got you covered. Watch the video above for their styling inspiration, and then read below for their thoughts on wearing yellow - and a guide on how to shop their looks online.

Billie Bhatia, fashion writer

“Pulling off yellow with a dress is not easy, so I needed a piece that didn’t detract from my usual style - slightly oversized and minimal in design. The simplicity allows you to maximise your accessories for a more playful look.

In the video, Billie wears Mimosa off-the-shoulder embroidered cotton dress by Merlette (£445) and V-10 leather sneakers by Veja (£110).

Kitty McGee, executive fashion director

“This summer I have lived in slip dresses - they’re just so easy and all I want to wear in the heat. I was surprised at how easy lemon is to wear; it feels more special than my typical black, and monochrome accessories work really well with it.”

Kitty wears Satin Tie Slip Dress by Frame (£372) and Machine Mules With Sprayed Heel in White Leather by Office (£70).

Polly Knight, fashion editor

“My style is quite boyish. So to make yellow not seem prim, tailoring is a great option: try with a classic T-shirt and chunky sliders or trainers. For evenings, wear with a silk cami and strappy heels, and keep the shape slouchy with wide legs, boxy blazers and scrunched-up sleeves.”

Polly wears suit from Hobbs (not yet available online) and “Love Cuff” bangle from Thomas Sabo (£149), with Black Synthetic Sandals from Vagabond (£45).

stylist.co.uk has had a yellow makeover on 15 August, to celebrate our Yellow Issue and pay homage to the colour of the season. Read more about the most playful shade of all here.
