Pussybow blouses and heritage checked blazer were the surprise sartorial duo during the autumn/winter 2019 shows and the high street has taken note…
We are having a high street renaissance this season, with so many of our old favourite haunts serving up stellar pieces. One trend that will be impossible to ignore for autumn/winter is the return to the Seventies, especially when it comes to our workwear.
Over the summer we have been used to relaxing our workwear wardrobe through a series of dresses, slip skirts and casual t-shirts; but now a new wave of serious dressing is upon us. The kind of seriousness that naturally comes with an autumn/ winter season where we see richer colours and more sumptuous fabrics.
This is thanks largely in part to a return to a grown-up wave that hit the catwalks at Celine, Etro, Burberry, Givenchy and Victoria Beckham. All of which served up an array of grown-up garms and a micro-trend we couldn’t help but notice: pussybow blouses with heritage check blazers.
For the 2019 version of this 70s trend we are taking on printed pussy-bow blouses and clashing them with our heritage checked blazers. We are wearing the bow undone because it’s 2019 and we can, and more over we are pairing this whole look with denim or wide legged trousers to give it a modern make over.
