Ferragamo and Simone Rocha are in agreement: balletcore is a key trend for spring/summer 2025, and we have tips on how to recreate it.
Cast your mind back to 2006, when Kate Moss dazzled the residents of Primrose Hill in a pair of ballet slippers and we all rushed out to pick up our own pink-toned pairs. The craze died down while the classic white trainer enjoyed its moment in the spotlight, but dancewear is once again starting to infiltrate our wardrobes. This time around, we’re calling it balletcore.
And the elegant style is likely to stick around, with a handful of designers at the most recent fashion weeks leaning into the balletcore look. Simone Rocha bought big into tulle tutus with plenty of volume, subtle shades and overly embellished knee-high socks in London. Ferragamo, meanwhile, proved that off-duty dance style is just as chic in Milan with pastel-shade leggings, wrap-around cardigans and ribbon-tied heels.

As ever, the high street isn’t far behind. Arket, Free People and & Other Stories have all added pink flush pumps, tulle skirts and wrap-around cardigans to their autumn/winter collections, and Reformation has plenty of ballet-themed picks, perfect for any aspiring dancer.
Below, we’ve shared a handful of our favourite sport-inspired finds. Remember, sticking within the pastel colour palette will only help add to the effortlessly elegant look, even if you’re pairing your pumps with a trusty pair of jeans.
