When H&M announces a new collaboration, the fashion world pays attention.
The highstreet stalwart has created an army of style mavens eager to get their hands on deisgner garbs at a fraction of the usual cost. From it’s recent collection with Kenzo to the sell-out success of Balmain, shoppers queue for hours in a bid to be first through the door when the collection drops.
And we expect no less from the latest collaboration as the budget chain has teamed up with the impeccably chic Parisian concept store colette for an exclusive edition of H&M Studio AW17.
Based on the main Studio line, the exclusive range features distinctive details such as hand-painted graffiti and jacquards with frayed edges while incorporating colette’s signature vibrant blue and will also feature two unique designs.
Inspired by the creativity and energy of New York City, with strong tailoring paired with feminine silhouettes and punk influences, and combined with that insouciant French flair, the collection features a range of timeless pieces that are destined to become your wardrobe staples.
“We really thought about the modern woman’s wardrobe and what she needs in it – sharp outerwear, soft dresses, flattering knits and statement accessories. For the H&M Studio x colette collection in particular, we not only combined contrasting fabrics in a garment, but also brought in more colour contrast with the signature colette blue, which created a more graphic structure and a new, fearless attitude,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s Head of Design and Creative Director.
From the throw-on-and-go graffiti dress to the classic-with-a-twist white shirt, the whole collection transports us to sunny afternoons spent at a sidewalk café scoffing down a croissant with our café au lait.
The H&M Studio x colette edition launches 21 August and will be available in-store and online at colette for two weeks, along with selected pieces from the main H&M Studio AW17 collection in advance of its global release date.
The main H&M Studio AW17 collection will be available from 14 September in selected H&M stores around the world and online.
