H&M x Giambattista Valli: the designer collaboration that is going to blow your mind
6 years ago
Last night in Cannes Kendall Jenner debuted the new H&M designer collaboration with Italian designer, Giambattista Valli.
In case you missed it, yesterday Kendall Jenner stepped onto the Cannes red carpet for amfAR gala in a mini (but maxi train) fuchsia pink dress made entirely of frothy tulle. A regular red-carpet appearance for the model you might think - nothing too out of the ordinary.
Well, think again. This dress was actually the debut of the latest H&M designer collaboration, and this time they are teaming up with Italian designer, Giambattista Valli for what will be the most fantastical collection the high street has ever seen.

Here’s a little background on the brand:
1. It’s the most anticipated (and Instragrammed) show at Paris Couture without fail. Every season.
2. The house’s signature style is over the top, totally magical, frothy, tulle dresses often in a variety of bright colours. Trust us, you’ve seen them.
3. Rihanna, Amal Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker are long-time fans of the Central Saint Martin’s schooled designer and have often worn his pieces for big red carpet appearances.
The pieces have serious Giambattista Valli signifiers: large swathes of tulle pleated and tucked into sweet prom-like dresses with exaggerated proportions (who doesn’t want a dress with a train?) A 3-D embellished white gown that would make a stunning wedding outfit, a pink ruffled floor sweeping dress and crystal embellished accessories to tie it all together.
The collection which is titled, ‘Project Love’ will do what no H&M designer collaboration has done before: you’ll be able to shop the collection almost immediately after the announcement. The looks showcased on the Cannes red carpet by Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, Bianca Brandolini, Li Yuchun and H.E.R. will be available to shop in 12 select H&M stories and hm.com from Saturday 25 May.
The rest of the collection will follow suit of previous designer collaborations in that the full drop will be 7 November - just in time for party season).
