Worn by the likes of Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter and Cynthia Erivo (to name but a few), high-shine outfits were the winner at the 2025 Grammy Awards this year. Here, we look at some of the best outfits and find out where to shop the looks on the high street.
While we were sleeping last night, the likes of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and a whole host of A-list celebrities were gracing the red carpet at the 2025 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. And while we love to see talent being recognised with awards – Tems took home the African music performance award, and Beyoncé accepted both the best country album and album of the year awards – we can’t help it if we get distracted by the red carpet outfits.
As expected, we weren’t disappointed: we saw Sabrina Carpenter in a blue satin feathered gown by JW Anderson; Taylor Swift wore a sparkly red mini dress by Vivienne Westwood; and Charli xcx wowed in a grey ruffled Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown. But while there were so many incredible and distinctive looks on the red carpet, there’s one trend that took the top spot: metallics.
Celebrities went for gold or silver outfits in high-shine, embellished and glistening fabrics that couldn’t go unnoticed. Proving that metallics are no longer reserved only for party season, these are the best metallic outfits from the Grammys and the best places to shop the look on the high street.
The 2025 Grammy Awards outfits
Sabrina Carpenter
Winning Grammys for best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance, Sabrina Carpenter switched her blue dress to match her awards, accepting them in a gold jewel-encrusted gown with a sweetheart neckline.
Cynthia Erivo
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo wowed in a navy Louis Vuitton gown with a high-shine silver neckline. Finishing the look with diamond earrings, a cuff bracelet and matchy-matchy pointed nails, this feels so fresh for 2025.
Beyoncé
Beyoncé accepted her awards for best country album and album of the year while wearing custom Schiaparelli couture. Coordinating top-to-toe, the intricate detailing on this dress can also seen on the matching gloves and earrings. Incredible.
Cardi B
The sequins, the feathers, the asymmetric neckline — Cardi B made an entrance in a Roberto Cavalli gown that brought the drama to the red carpet.
Alicia Keys
Corsets are a mini-trend for spring/summer 2025, and Alicia Keys got ahead of it in this Dolce & Gabbana dress of dreams. Making a black dress red-carpet-worthy, it’s all about that golden waistline and supersized jewels.
Willow Smith
Sheer and knicker-flashing outfits were another key trend at the Grammys, and Willow Smith was among the celebrities championing it. Wearing Dior, the embellished high-waisted lingerie set was set off with a black maxi coat and towering platform heels.
Heidi Klum
Satins and silks were also popular on the red carpet, and Heidi Klum managed to tick off two trends in one with this silver metallic gown with removable satin sleeves.
Tems
Singer Tems accepted her best African music performance Grammy wearing a gold and black halterneck dress complete with matching gloves and scarf. Are gloves with nails going to be a new trend?
Madison Beer
Wearing a Miss Sohee spring 2025 couture dress, the sheer embellished style with removable sage green satin train is so dreamy. Another celebrity to wear sheer and corset details, all eyes were on singer Madison Beer.
Paris Hilton
Also going for gold, Paris Hilton graced the red carpet in a plunging gold sparkly dress complete with a sheer cape. With cape-style dresses being a look for 2025, expect to see a lot of celebrities wearing them to upcoming awards.
