Bronzed skin, ruby-coloured lips and teal nails, the English Rose gets a modern makeover at Burberry - here's how to recreate the signature lip.

With a collection christened "The Birds and The Bees," Burberry's make-up artist Wendy Rowe told me there was only one thing for it, "a deep, red rose coloured lip and glowy, bronzed skin that looks like they've spent the summer in the garden."

Such a beautiful look but one that takes all of five minutes (trust me, I've tried it). Wendy applied Burberry Fresh Glow in Golden to give the skin a honey hue then lined lips with a red pencil before applying Burberry lipstick in Ruby.

The trick lies in taking a single ply tissue, holding up to the mouth and dusting over with translucent powder for a softly diffused, almost matte look, "that's what makes it modern," Rowe explained, "that's what makes it Burberry."
