One of the shows I look forward to the most during London Fashion Week is Fashion East.

If the fashion industry thrives on showcasing new talent - and industry insiders pride themselves on being the first to know - Fashion East's support for emerging talent is ground zero for talent spotting.

Previous alumni include Roksanda, Simone Rocha and House of Holland so all eyes were on the catwalk at Tate Britain this weekend.

Richard Malone was first to show (above, main photo) with a collection of easy striped pieces with a louche relaxed feel while Caitlin Price was inspired by a group of girls on their way home after a night out. With early 90s Alaiyah-inspired styling, crop tops and sporty satins, the models had buckets of attitude and Monroe piercings added to the street tough vibe.

Finally, AV Robertson took to the runway. Edie Campbell wore the first exit while Anna Cleveland, Lineisy Montero and Georgia May Jagger all added some supermodel sparkle to the clothes - which were already bejewelled with iridescent sequins and rich colours.

Traditional tailored stripes were cut into asymmetric shapes - and the fash pack were relieved to see thick opaque tights back on the catwalk, styled by Katie Grand, especially in the chilly February weather.

Manchester-born Amie designed a small collection for ASOS last season and as a former design assistant of Marc Jacobs, her former employer sat in the front row to show his support. 

Fashion East was a brilliant celebration of all the reasons London is fresh, new and THE place to discover the next big thing.
