We’re taking the lead from one of our favourite style stars and clambering onto the cowboy bandwagon.
Cowboy fashion has come back around as one of the top trending styles of the season. While core pieces such as cowboy boots, straw hats and our doting on double (or even triple) denim have stayed fairly consistent over the past few years, we’re starting to witness a rise in more specific styles, and it’s all thanks to Beyoncé.
Since kicking off her Renaissance world tour on 10 May in Stockholm, Queen Bey has garnered a huge amount of attention, seemingly taking over TikTok, Instagram and almost every radio station we’ve tuned in to. Of course, this is to be expected; the superstar singer sold out all 57 worldwide shows almost immediately, but the sudden rise in fashion searches may be more surprising.
According to online retailer Nasty Gal, Google searches for ‘metallic cowboy boots’ rose by 488% after the first night of the tour, alongside ‘disco cowboy hat’, ‘silver bodysuit’ and ‘silver cowboy boots’ – all of which feature in Beyoncé’s now-famous Renaissance costumes. Clearly, the combination of disco and cowboy is one to watch.
To get a head start, we’ve rounded up 11 cowboy-inspired pieces – silver boots included – that take the trend into our everyday wardrobes. As much as we’d love to wear a disco cowboy hat to work, it may look a little more hen-do than high fashion on anyone other than Beyoncé, so expect more subdued shirts, jeans and jewellery for every budget.
