Move over leopard, cow hide is the only animal print to wear this season

Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham are already on board

There was a moment in time in 2018 when wearing head to toe leopard was not a bad idea. In fact, it was actively encouraged, the more print the better. Slip a little zebra print in there and a touch of snake print and you might as well call yourself an influencer.

But that was 2018 and this is 2019. The old animal print rules are out the window and the new ones read as such: the only print to be seen in is cow print. Yes, you read that right: black splodges on a white background is all the rage.

The trend, which has been bubbling away in the background, took its moment to usurp its ever-popular siblings when Meghan Markle stepped out in a pair of cow print Gianvitto Rossi shoes.

Take note on how to wear this western staple via Instagram’s most fashionable posts and shop our edit of your new season print now.

For those who want to embrace a trend whole heartedly, make it a head to toe look.

Grown-up animal print

For those wanting a more subdued moment, test out cow print a la VB, in luxe fabrics and elegant shapes.

The holiday version

We weren’t convinced this was going to be a winner, but the lighter print acts as a neutral colour pallet and is a surprisingly flattering option.

A toe in the trend

For those just wanting to dip a metaphorical and literal toe into the trend, you won’t go wrong with a pair of western style cow print boots.
