From the moment Beyoncé stepped on stage at Coachella (aka Beychella), history was made. She was the first black woman to headline the festival and her performance will go down in history as one that was both epic and powerful in equal measure.

The crowd (myself included) screamed as Queen Bey unleashed all her classics onto an ever-worshipping throng of fans, and wept when Destiny’s Child reformed IRL. However, this being Beyoncé, there was so much to her performance than the music: her every move at the festival was a considered and brilliantly executed message to the world, including her fashion choices.

The singer was supported on stage by a 100-piece marching band to support her performance, and she dressed them all in specially made Balmain outfits, each of which had been designed to celebrate the historically black colleges of America. And, ever since that moment, we have been trying to incorporate those iconic pink and yellow hoodies into our wardrobes since.

Now, the wait is over: Beyoncé and Balmain have partnered up to recreate her Coachella wardrobe for the general public, in a range that will go on sale on 14 July. And, brilliantly, all profits will go to UNCF (United Negro College Fund), the organisation that provide financial support to 37 historically black colleges and universities.
