Making a huge comeback for 2025, faux fur coats are the outerwear style you’ll be seeing more of in 2025 and beyond.

At this time of year, warmth is the key factor to consider when it comes to fashion. While spring/summer 2025 trends are already dropping in the shops (yep, really), it’s far too early to even consider sheer fabrics or feet-baring sandals when temperatures are still below 10ºC. Which is why we’re turning our attention to the most important item in your wardrobe: a coat. Whether it’s a maxi style, a belted iteration that feels like a cosy dressing gown or a puffer that’s not all that dissimilar to our beloved duvets, coats all have one thing in common right now: they have to keep you warm. Luckily, one of the most popular coat styles this year is basically like a 360-degree hug. Yes, it’s the faux fur coat.

There’s no doubt about it, fluffy coats have always present during winter in one way or another in the form of shearling, teddy or boucle, but this season, it’s all about classic faux fur styles.

Warm shades of chocolate brown, tan and cream will always be a clever wear-any-year choice, but we’re also seeing fun bold versions coming through from the likes of east London label Jakke. No matter your preference, these cosy coats are bound to be the talking point of all your outfits from here on out. The best part? Most of them are so big and cosy that there’s no need to even consider what you’re wearing underneath – the coat is the outfit. Perfect for those days when you have no idea what to wear

Keep scrolling to see nine of the best faux fur coats, as picked by our fashion team.
