Spotted on the most stylish women, the V-neck jumper is back with a bang this season.

A new year means new trends to try, but sometimes the best buys are classic items that never fail to impress. We’re talking the trench coat, an oversized blazer, a white shirt and ankle boots, to name a few. And when it comes to knitwear, we find ourselves relying on timeless pieces more than ever. While we’re used to spotting roll necks and sweatshirts at this time of year, sometimes our attention turns to a particular knit. This winter, it’s all about the V-neck jumper.

Once associated primarily with grandpas and cricketers, the humble knit is now being worn by some of the coolest street stylers to become the star of the show.

Not sure how to wear it? Keep scrolling for some styling tips, and while you’re at it, keep going to see the V-neck jumpers we rate from the likes of & Other Stories, Reformation and more.

How to style V-neck jumpers

If you own a basic white T-shirt, you’ll be able to recreate the simple way most people are wearing the V-neck knit for 2024. All you have to do it layer your jumper over your T-shirt to have a flash of white underneath. It may sound incredibly simple, because it is, but there’s something about it that just gives it that cool-girl effortless look.

Another key way to style the V-neck is by putting some thought into the knit itself. Instead of opting for classic black or grey, go for a bright bold colour (red is very 2024) and let it do all the talking.

If you want to embrace the preppy look, then make like Emmanuelle and layer your favourite V-neck jumper over a shirt. The key is to keep it buttoned to the top. We also love this look with the cuffs on show. It’s all about those simple styling hacks that’ll make your outfits appear more polished this winter.
