The spring/summer 2025 shows in Milan certainly didn’t disappoint. Here are our top five favourite trends hot off the catwalk which ought to be on your radar.
When it comes to luxury fashion, Milan rarely disappoints, even though the bar is consistently set high.
Short, sleek suiting by Loro Piana set a sophisticated tone. Among the designers, Diesel stole the show with its bold and imaginative presentations featuring spider-thread lace dresses. Prada’s shimmering, reflective fringing brought a touch of sparkle to the runway, while Gucci’s citron yellow and red leather looks injected energy into the season.
From ethereal colour palettes to intricate detailing, the collections were inspirational and delightful. As was the front row, which was studded with stars including Zendaya, Madonna, Timothée Chalamet and Dua Lipa, adding an extra layer of glamour to the week-long event.
So, with plenty of inspiration to be found from a multitude of designers, we’ve highlighted the following five trends from the spring/summer 2025 catwalks, all of which deserve a spot in your wardrobe…

Move over Brat green, there’s a new hue on our radar. Amid a sea of neutrals, citrus yellow and mustard added a pop of colour and a dopamine hit. Gucci, Benetton, Tod’s and Vivetta brought a little energy and zest to the runway, signalling a bright and optimistic season ahead.

With reflective fringing and megawatt metallics, Gucci added a touch of sparkle to the catwalks, making every step shimmer. Meanwhile, Prada went down a more space age-inspired route, thanks to Miuccia Prada and Raf Simmons who celebrated the fun of fashion. The collection featured shimmering silver palettes over zip-up parkas and dazzling alien-esque headwear.

Jil Sander, Marni, Sunnei and Prada showcased prints that were a far cry from the usual ditsy florals and gingham checks we expect for spring. Italian designers tapped into the visual arts scene for inspiration, featuring graphic, blown-up prints of artwork.

We saw sweeping curls, high-arched brows, loose silhouettes with dropped waists and minimal accessories paired with dainty shoes. Heavily embellished and ornamented dresses – rhinestone-studded sweeping black dresses at GCDS and fluttering sleeve cape dresses at Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini, for example – exuded 1920s high-octane glamour. Meanwhile, beaded crystal fringing at Missoni proved this trend is set to stay.

With spiderweb textures and featherlike fabric, flirty and slinky dresses were the order of the day, including polished iterations at Tom Ford and raw and ready styles at Diesel and The Attico.
