I remember the first time I thought a snood might be for me. In the depths of winter 2021, on a drizzly, cold morning, I noticed a woman walking toward me in a knitted, striped scarf-like thing that covered her ears, hair and neck entirely. She looked cool. She also looked incredibly warm. 

Since then, the accessory has exploded: Marni, Loewe and Gucci are among the more high-end designers making them, while high street brands such as Cos and H&M are getting in on the action too.
