Footwear is taking on a fuzzier feel this season with the rise in a new shoe trend. Here’s our edit of the best fluffy styles to shop now, from high-end to the high street.
When it comes to everyday dressing, most of us stick to our trusty favourites – the things we know and love. A chunky loafer and great boot are staples for a reason, but what about those days when we want to break from routine and have a little more fun with our style? Enter the shoe of the moment, the fluffy footwear trend – or, as Stylist’s fashion team likes to call it, the yeti.
At first glance, these shoes might look slightly over-the-top, but trust us, this is one trend you really don’t want to miss. Bold, playful and surprisingly elegant, these shoes are the perfect way to make a statement. Especially with party season in full swing, there’s no better time to step up your shoe game than with a plush, hairy pair.

We’ve spotted a flurry of furry footsteps on the autumn/winter 2024 catwalks that are fun with a capital F. At Erdem, wispy feathered heels were styled with elevated knitwear and matching plume dresses. Meanwhile, Simone Rocha’s teddy bear-style ballet flats were paired with fluffy power coats. The no-heel design made them more wearable but no less fun.
If the idea of fur-covered clogs, downy mules and feathered stiletto heels that brush the floor seems a little silly, well… perhaps. But fashion is supposed to be playful sometimes, isn’t it?

Though they may not be the most sensible or serious sartorial move, they’re fabulous and flamboyant nonetheless. These are shoes that invite a second glance and a closer look – which is all part of their charm.
Keen to try the cosy style for yourself? There are many textured options to shop, from Proenza Schouler’s signature Mary Janes (which come covered in a dreamy soft shearling) to River Island’s red faux-feathered kitten heels.
From high-end to high street, keep scrolling to shop our edit of the best fluffy shoes to buy this season.
