From the season’s key colour to the accessories we keep seeing, read Stylist’s round up of the best street style trends from New York Fashion Week.
New York Fashion Week has come and gone, leaving behind an array of fresh trends and collections. Designers including Coach, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors showcased stunning collections that we’re still obsessing over.
But before we shift our attention to the shows in London, Milan and Paris, we’ve spotted an array of trends that are sure to take over your Instagram feed in the coming months – perhaps even sooner.
Sure, the buzz around the catwalks is undeniable, but it’s often the streets of the city itself that offer the most inspiring wardrobe ideas. Whether it’s a fresh approach to accessorising or dramatic coat styles, New York’s style set has provided endless inspiration for the new season ahead.
Read on for Stylist’s curated edit of the best street style looks from autumn/winter 2025’s New York Fashion Week.
The very best New York Fashion Week street style looks
1. Polka dot spots

This season, we’ve seen all kinds of polka dots on the catwalks. Altuzarra opted for subversive spotty tailoring with shoulder-baring designs in classic black and white. Meanwhile, Sandy Liang and Prabal Gurung both kept dots bright and bold in offbeat colour combinations.
It’s no surprise the street style crowd is following suit. Our favourite fashion insiders prove that the print isn’t just catwalk-worthy but easy for everyday wear. Here, Steph Hui wears a gold pendant paired with a Carolina Herrera cropped top featuring a monochromatic polka-dotted ribbon strap with a matching high-waisted midi skirt.
2. Burnt orange

Tangerine, marmalade and grapefruit … no, not the ingredients for a zesty new recipe. These vibrant orange hues offer a refreshing nod to spring and summer, despite the lingering winter chill. Expect to see plenty of citrus-inspired shades making their way into our warm-weather wardrobes. Keep styling and accessorising minimal with light-toned bags and heels, as pictured above.
3. Knitted bonnets and hoods

Hats have been swapped out for bonnets and hoods, and we love how they look with a few strands of hair styled outside the hood for an off-duty vibe. We predict we’ll see more spring and summer-appropriate hoods this year, both in cotton and broderie anglaise.
4. Burgundy accessories

When it comes to matching burgundy accessories, be sure to mix in some neutral tones to let the wine-red hue truly shine. Cream, tan and shades of mocha mousse work particularly well.
5. Fluffy coats

While we eagerly anticipate the arrival of summer, the current weather forecast isn’t quite ready to let us slip into flip-flops and sandals just yet. That’s why fluffy and faux fur coats have made a stylish return on the streets of New York.
For a chic twist, try layering your fluffy coat off the shoulder over a lightweight trench if the temperatures rise, as Greivy Lou has done. This gives you the perfect balance between warmth and style.
