Whether it’s a staycation bag or a XL suitcase for a long haul trip, these are the chic luggage brands you’ll want to take on your next getaway.
If part of your new year plan is for more weekends away and holidays to look forward to, you’re not alone. Whether it’s a staycation or somewhere further afield, there’s a lot of exciting planning that needs to be done. You may already have a hotel in mind or different Instagrammable locations saved away to visit, and while outfit planning might be a last-minute job, it’s never too soon to start considering your luggage.
If you’ve had the same battered case for years, it might be time for an upgrade. And let us tell you, there’s a whole host of new and longstanding luggage labels that are so popular right now.
Aussie labels Nere and July are new to the UK, and they’re a go-to for bold styles that you’ll be able to spot from a mile off on the airport baggage carousel. Katie Loxton has personalised, monogrammed overnight bags covered and Paravel is the sustainable brand to know. Keep scrolling for the nine luggage labels you’ll want to take with you on your next getaway.
Nere
All the way from Australia, the cool, colourful luggage brand is now available in the UK. You can get everything from check-in cases and travel bags to passport covers and luggage tags in an array of fun shades. If you sign up to their newsletter (here), you can also get 20% off your first full-price purchase. Go, go, go!
Nere Stori 55cm suitcase
There’s one thing we can guarantee about this case: you’ll always be able to spot it in a crowd! This carry-on case comes in a whole host of shades and has a honeycomb texture to make it scratch-resistant.
Paravel
It may have been around since 2016, but NYC-based brand Paravel is firmly on our radar after being stocked at the likes of Net-a-Porter and Selfridges. The carbon-neutral luxury brand is sustainable and stylish, and its signature cases are made out of recycled materials and vegan leather details. If you travel a lot, the extra spend will be worth it for these beauties.
Paravel Aviator Grand vegan leather-trimmed recycled-hardshell suitcase
The lining of this case is made from upcycled plastic bottles, the outer shell from recycled-polycarbonate and the leather trim is all vegan. And of course we have to mention how chic it’ll look with your outfits at the airport.
July
Another Aussie brand that’s recently launched in the UK: July. With luggage made to last (each item comes with a lifetime warranty), it’s the cool case company that creates some of the lightest four-wheel styles. If you want to add a personal touch, you can customise them with your name, initials or any word so you can spot it at the airport’s baggage reclaim.
July light carry-on case
At only 1.8kg, this super light carry on case case is a winner. It comes in 10 colours (three are limited edition and are already selling out fast) and it’s also vegan-friendly.
Monos
If you’re a minimalist, you’ll love Monos’s sleek fuss-free designs. Focusing on people who love to travel in style, it has everything including carry-on or check-in cases, large trunks for those who like to overpack and even packing essentials such as cosmetics cases and packing cubes. Haven’t tried these space-saving cubes? They’re a game-changer!
Monos Carry-on Pro case
Designed to fit in most overhead luggage spaces on flights, the Carry-on Pro has a zip front section that fits a 16” laptop under the protective shell – perfect if you have to travel a lot for work.
Antler
As a Brit brand creating luggage since 1914, Antler is of course well-known by many. But more recently, it has become a firm favourite among fashion editors and influencers thanks to its modern take on good-quality cases and travel bags. The sturdy styles are not only practical for busy people on the go, they also look so sleek in a whole host of bright and classic colours – perfect for everyone.
Antler Stamford 2.0 set in berry
If you like to go matchy-matchy with your luggage, Antler’s stacking sets are a go-to. You’ll always have the right size for any upcoming trips and they fit inside each other so take up less space for storage.
Away
Away is another brand you’ve most likely already spotted on Instagram, and that’s no surprise when it has the coolest chrome, rose gold and pastel cases. If you tend to go for more nights away or weekend trips, there are also holdalls and overnighter bags that are so good you’ll want to show them off.
Away Everywhere Bag in medium
The ‘Everywhere Bag’ is basically the style that’ll carry all the essentials for a quick trip. The clever compartments will keep everything neat and tidy when you’re on the go.
Katie Loxton
Launching in 2014, Katie Loxton is the UK-based bag brand focusing on personalised styles for every occasion. You can get purses, handbags, cabin bags and backpacks, and they can all be embroidered with initials so you’ll always be able to find them easily. The vegan leather pieces also make for the perfect gift.
Katie Loxton Oxford weekend holdall
Available in seven classic colours including black, beige and tan, this weekend bag can be carried by the top handles or as a crossbody bag – for those who tend not to travel light.
Samsonite
Having been around since 1910, Samsonite knows a thing or two about how to create some of the best luggage around. If you want cases that’ll last for years to come, it’s worth the investment. With bags, cases and backpacks for every travel need, there’s also something for all the family with its Disney edit.
Samsonite Lite-box alu trunk
One of the most popular styles in the aluminium trunks. The super sleek style comes in five different sizes, and while they’re heavier than other four-wheel styles, they are very sturdy.
Globe-Trotter
Want to invest in luxury luggage? Look no further than Globe-Trotter. Founded way back in 1897, the Brit brand is dedicated to creating handmade elegant cases for everyone. The iconic strap briefcase-style cases are all finished with polished brass and luxe leather details.
