Linen trousers could be the much more comfortable answer to summer styling over jeans.
As we sit in a somewhat limbo of summer, one minute scorching sun, the next a blistering breeze, working out what to wear is trickier than usual. While sun dresses sit in our wardrobes, calling our names to be styled with sandals and beach bags, the threat of grey clouds and temperamental temperatures make snuggly jumpers and jackets more tempting. So, we’re looking for layering pieces that can keep up with the continual change, wicking away sweat while still being cosy, and linen trousers may be our best bet.
Made from flax plant fibres, the natural material dries faster than cotton yet is still incredibly strong, making a great long-lasting warm weather staple. And they’re much more comfortable than your everyday jeans. But before you go thinking of the dull, dreary colours and paper-bag-like fits of linen trousers of years gone by, trust us when we say they’ve had a much more stylish makeover.
Striking shades, playful prints and more modern cuts are all starting to creep through, and we’ve rounded up our nine favourite finds below to suit all budgets and styles.
