From cream to caramel, oatmeal to rust, beige is the colour palette of the summer and it’s going nowhere for autumn.
Fashion month saw an unlikely explosion of beige on the catwalks: subtle stone tailoring with lightweight cream outerwear at Hermes, sand-toned trenches with matching dresses (and bags and shoes) at Burberry and caramel leather coats at Altuzarra. The standout colour of the summer is without a doubt beige, and head-to-toe tonal dressing in the shade of the moment is the epitome of chic.
While the weather is good, opt for ivory and oatmeal mixed with warm and rich tones of russet and camel, or style neutrals with pops of colour as seen at Rejina Pyo and Sies Marjan for added interest. As cooler weather approaches, add some tan leather or suede pieces; a bold, structured midi skirt or butter soft trench will both work well as will some more practical black leather accessories.

11 chic canvas bags to see you through summer in style
Whatever the season, this trend is super versatile, and there are two distinct styling camps that fashion insiders have adopted to help you wear head-to-toe beige.
The first is elegant, feminine, Burberry-inspired looks. Think tailoring, pleated skirts, trenches and structured, ladylike tote bags and heels, and softer beige tones mixed with flashes of white and it-accessories.
Alternatively, wear the trend with a utility-edge: loose silhouettes, shirts worn as jackets, boxy multi-pocket jackets, wide leg trousers and cotton T-shirts or vests. Accessorise with a leather belt bag or an oversized canvas tote and chunky flats.
