A Ukranian artist and designer has created a range of flamboyant wedding gowns made from paper. Asya Kozina's designs are based on traditional Mongolian dresses. "They are very extravagant and futuristic," commented Kozina, who studied design at the University of Cherkassy. "I wanted to create my own version of these outfits and I felt the white paper emphasised their shape."

Collaborating with photographer Anastasia Andreeva, Kozina has released a series of pictures of her highly styled dresses. They look stunning, but frankly, we're worried about the possibility of severe papercuts should we risk slipping into one of these outfits. Things were also a little trying on the shoot. "We encountered some difficulties as the models were unable to sit down throughout the shoot which took around five hours and if any parts of the paper crumpled it is impossible to restore the dress, so we had to be careful," says Kozina. 

These aren't the only quirky wedding frocks around. The dresses below were made from toilet paper for a recycled, eco-friendly fashion show at a women's prison in Zhengzhou, China. Designed by prisoner Wang Lele, the gowns were covered with 3,000 toilet paper flowers.

Slightly more sanitary are these two designs, which are covered in classic sweets, including licorice and marshmallows. They were made in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee back in 2012. Delicious.
