Agyness Deyn wowed the fashion world when she first stepped out onto the catwalk all those years ago, thanks to her fresh and edgy look.

So it comes as no surprise that the model-turned-actress chose to sidestep tradition when it came to her and Joel McAndrew’s wedding day.

Instead of a classic white gown, Deyn opted for a pink tea-length number by Molly Goddard – complete with tiered organza leaves and a voluminous sheer skirt.

And she didn’t stop there; she made sure to accessorise her alternative bridal look with a pair of teal block heels, an orchid bouquet, and teardrop earrings.

Deyn ditched the conventional veil, too, showing off her blunt blonde bob to maximum effect.

McAndrew dressed to match the theme, coordinating his colours to Deyn’s ensemble with a white suit, metallic tie, teal pocket square, and pink boutonniere.

He finished by accessorising with a pair of velvet slippers.

The couple's wedding, which took place at an intimate ceremony in New York's Brooklyn Heights, was attended by some of fashion’s biggest names, including Deyn's longtime friend Henry Holland.

Though few details are known about the nuptials so far, the 33-year-old did share a snapshot of herself and her new husband wading through a storm of confetti.

She captioned it: “I love you Mr. McAndrew and I’m so honoured and excited to call you my husband.”

Deyn launched her career as a model, but she has since made a name for herself as an actrsss, starring in films such as Clash of the Titans and Sunset Song.

Speaking about why she switched careers, she told The New Zealand Herald: “I started acting in my late 20s. I'm 33 now. I never had any training and first did a few short films. I had small roles in bigger films and said, 'Yes, this is it!' I had travelled a lot as a model and it got lonely.

“There was no feeling of a family, whereas you can have intimate, meaningful relationships on films.”

She continued: “Every role I play I learn something about myself and I step into scary places that I wouldn't normally want to visit. I was untrained to start with but now have a coach and I learn from everyone I work with.”

Deyn was previously married to Saving Private Ryan's Giovanni Ribisi, who she finalised her divorce from in 2015.
