6 rain boots to help you embrace the welly trend

If we’ve learned anything this year, it’s the importance of making sure your wardrobe is fully equipped for a lot of time spent outside.
Rain boots are having a bit of a moment style-wise, with wellies cropping up on a/w 20 catwalks all over, and everyone from Ganni to Bottega adding rubber boots to their new season collections.
Truly, the #cottagecore trend is here to stay, so now’s the time to make sure your feet are good and puddle-proof before the worst of the weather arrives.
These are the six rain boots to add to your outfit this season…
1. The classic wellies
The old-school essential, this is the latest version of the very first welly released by Hunter back in 1956.
As seen on everyone from Bella Hadid to Kate Moss and made from 28 hand-cut parts in vulcanised rubber, it’s your first port of call in wet conditions.
Pair with skinny or straight jeans for a sleek, close-fitting silhouette.
2. The Chelsea boots
When you want the dependable style points of a design classic, but also don’t want your feet to get soaked through, these are the boots for you.
The waterproof Chelsea is everywhere this season, and this bold yellow number is our favourite for combatting all that grey.
Expect the typical elasticated gussets and easy-on pull-tab of a classic Chelsea boot, made from waterproof rubber rather than rain-ruined suede.
3. The functional wellies
Up for something a bit more outdoorsy than a drizzly walk to the shops? These super-durable wellies have you covered.
