Copenhagen Fashion Week has just finished, and these are the trends we can all actually wear

We’ve always believed it’s rare that we can copy looks directly from the runway, but the autumn/winter 2025 CPHFW shows have proved us wrong.

The highly-anticipated Copenhagen Fashion Week shows have come to an end, and after four days of getting to see some of our favourite Scandi designers show their autumn/winter 2025 collections (yes, fashion is always ahead) we have some thoughts.

It’s rare that fashion and function go hand-in-hand on the catwalks, as often, designs tend to showcase looks or items that aren’t necessarily wearable for the everyday person. But with Copenhagen’s love for comfortable outfits, we’ve seen more easy-to-buy and wear pieces than ever this season. Or, even better, you may already own some of the pieces, so can dig them out of your wardrobe and simply style them the Scandi-approved way to give them a whole new feel.

So, what are the coolest Scandi labels backing for 2025? Baum und Pferdgarten went for shirt suits with a nod to British heritage thanks to shades of olive and leather accessories; Munthe added a new wild animal print – tiger – to our must-wear list; and when it comes to colour, rich chocolate brown is key. Add to this a whole lot of love for the humble LBD at Rotate and you get a whole load of fresh outfit inspiration.

With no need to wait until the end of the year to style these pieces from the autumn/winter 2025 shows, we predict you’ll wear them all on heavy rotation from here on out. Keep going to see the trends you’ll actually want to wear from CPHFW.

1. Jeans And A Nice Top

Let’s kick it off with something nice and simple, shall we? We’ve all heard of the ‘jeans and a nice top’ pairing that never fails, right? And chances are, we’ve all relied on it at some time or another to save the day on those “I have nothing to wear” days. Well, now the underrated pairing is getting the recognition it deserves, and it’s all thanks to the Gestuz autumn/winter 2025 show. Here, the much-loved Danish brand showed a printed halterneck Y2K-style top worn with classic blue baggy jeans – and we fully approve of this outfit all of us can copy.

To give it a catwalk spin, make like Gestuz and add talking-point earrings and keep the look elevated with a pair of heels. Note: this will also look chic with ballet flats come spring.

2. Shirt Suits

Baum und Pferdgarten made a nod to British heritage with olive shades, timeless countryside-chic accessories and tailored separates. Instead of blazers, though, it’s going to be all about the shirt suit for autumn/winter 2025. And the best part is we can of course copy this look already, from now through to the rest of the year.

Creating a new co-ord to play around with, try it the Scandi way by doing the double shirt styling hack – as seen at the show – or leave the shirt open over a vest top once the weather warms up.

3. Tiger Print

We’ve only just told you how all kinds of animal prints are key for 2025 – think antelope, zebra and snake – and now there’s a new one to add to the list: tiger. Spotted on the Munthe autumn/winter 2025 runways in the form of easy-to-style mini skirts (as seen above) and T-shirts, it’s a new print to add to the mix that’s surprisingly easy to wear. Much like leopard, the brown and black stripe can be worn as a neutral. So while maximalists may choose to team with other prints or colours, minimalists may want to wear it with wardrobe staples in other tonal shades.

However you choose to style tiger print, we’re adding it to our list of safari-esque prints that are set to dominate the fashion world this year.

4. Chocolate Tailoring

Pantone’s Mocha Mousse is the colour of the year; rich chocolate coats, dresses and accessories are filling up the ‘new in’ sections; and now tonal shades of brown are confirmed to stick around for the long haul after being spotted at the Skall Studio Autumn/Winter 2025 show. In the form of tailored waistcoats and matching trousers, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a spring/summer outfit – and you bet we’ll be copying it as soon as the sun comes out, too.

Not alone in championing brown, CMMN SWDN and Munthe also put chocolate brown pieces down the runways with satin dresses, coats and more tailored separates proving to be popular.

5. The Black Dress

With not one, not two but seven black dresses in the Rotate show, it’s clear to see the love the LBD shows no sign of waning. And it was proof the trusty classic needn’t be boring, with power shoulder styles (as seen above), Princess hoop-skirt iterations and cape and one-shoulder details being among the black dresses on the runway. With the addition of texture – think shaggy skirts, buttery soft satin and faux fur coats, the humble black dress has been reimagined for autumn/winter 2025.

And considering we all most likely already own a black dress of some kind, it’s time to take note from Copenhagen Fashion Week and wear them once again.
