Fellow fans of watching wildly wealthy people’s worlds implode, assemble. BBC’s Wild Cherry is in production, and we’ve got an exclusive first look.
If The White Lotus is making you ravenous for more provocative stories about rich people’s lives falling apart, we’ve got just the programme for you to start getting excited about.
Wild Cherry is a new BBC drama from the mind of the brilliant Nicôle Lecky, the creator of Mood, and promises to be a challenging look at mother-daughter relationships set within a wealthy community where no one wants for anything.
And, we’ve got the first look at the new series, which is filming now. So enjoy these images, and read on to find out what to expect.

What is the plot of Wild Cherry?
This is where things get good as the storyline sounds so up our street. It’s set in the brilliantly titled Richford Lake, a (fictional) gated community in the home counties.
At the centre are best friends Lorna and Juliet, whose daughters Grace and Allegra are also best pals and have everything they could ever wish for. But the friendship between Lorna and Juliet is pushed to its limits when their daughters become involved in a scandal at their posh private school and the effects ripple out and fracture everything around it.
And you can’t tell me this explanation doesn’t sound intriguing: “The six-part series is a provocative and deliciously honest look at mother/daughter relationships amid the whirlwind of social media, hidden apps and relentless peer pressure that asks: how far will we go to protect our children? And just how much do teenage girls know about the women raising them? If the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, then who is leading these girls astray?”

Who will star in Wild Cherry?
Carmen Ejogo (True Detective, The Penguin) and Eve Best (House Of The Dragon) take the lead as Lorna and Juliet. Lorna is a successful businesswoman who’s worked very hard to get inside those hallowed gates, while Juliet was born into a life of privilege and riches. Imogen Faires and Amelia May play their daughters, Grace and Allegra. Lecky the show’s creator will also appear as Gigi.
