Succession may be finished, but there are plenty of TV shows with family drama at the core to keep you entertained.

For any Succession fans out there, we know that this is a difficult time.

The thought of the Roy family not being a part of our lives every week is almost too upsetting to think about. How can we go on without Greg and Tom’s dysfunctional bond? Or Kendall’s raps? Or Roman’s quips and Shiv’s power craving and business outfits? And what about Connor, our forgotten eldest boy?

The series, which began in 2018 and concluded its fourth and final season last week, has been nothing but a runaway critical success – with writer Jesse Armstrong’s work of art is being touted by many as the greatest TV show of all time.

We hung on every word of every character as the children fought for control of Waystar RoyCo from their patriarch, Logan Roy (Brian Cox). They shouted, they cried and they did some highly questionable things. In hindsight, not one of them was truly redeemable, but we loved them anyway.

Succession’s four-season run is now over, and to be frank, we aren’t too sure what to do with ourselves. Lucky for us, there are actually other TV shows out there that our worthy of our time.

Permeated with struggles, challenges and theatrics, the families of these shows are almost as broken as the Roys. So, to help fill the Succession-shaped hole in your life, here are seven series with familial drama to watch now.

The show already has six seasons, with the seventh due to be released later this year.

Game Of Thrones

A global phenomenon, Game Of Thrones had people both hiding behind their seats and sitting on the edge of them. An adaptation of A Song Of Ice And Fire – a series of fantasy novels by George RR Martin – the show follows nine noble families fighting for control over the lands of Westeros, while an ancient enemy returns after being dormant for millennia. Expect fighting, death, sex, nudity, dragons and a man called Jon Snow who knows nothing.

The Righteous Gemstones

The Righteous Gemstones

The Righteous Gemstones is similar in many ways to Succession, except instead of focusing on a media empire, this is a tale about a world-famous televangelist brood. Starring John Goodman as the patriarch Eli Gemstone, the preaching family is more interested in making money through Christ than learning from his teachings.
