Almost a decade since the first season, Tom Hiddleston and an all-star cast are set to return for seasons two and three of BBC One thriller The Night Manager.
If you cast your mind all the way back to 2016, you might remember that we were all obsessed with BBC One’s twisty thriller The Night Manager, which followed Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston), a former British soldier turned night manager of a luxury hotel in Cairo, who ends up in possession of confidential documents about illegal weapon trades. What happened next was an epic game of cat and mouse between Pine and arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) that was watched by millions and won multiple Baftas, Emmys and Golden Globes, including best actor for Hiddleston.
Well, the good news is that The Night Manager – and Hiddleston – are back for two new seasons of the drama, which will be directed by I Hate Suzie’s Georgi Banks-Davies. Here are all the details we know so far.
What is the plot of The Night Manager season two?
According to BBC, season two will pick up with Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine eight years after the explosive finale of season one, going beyond the original bestselling book (written by John le Carré in 1993) that inspired the series.
Details are yet to emerge of exactly where we’ll meet Pine for season two, but after successfully infiltrating a global crime syndicate in season one, we’re sure that the hotel business will be well and truly behind him.
Who will star in The Night Manager season two?
The first season boasted an all-star ensemble of Tom Hollander, Olivia Colman and Elizabeth Debicki, and we’re pleased to report that alongside Tom Hiddleston as Jonathan Pine, we’ll also see the return of Colman as intelligence officer Angela Burr. She’ll be joined by season one stars Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone and Noah Jupe - who plays Danny Roper.
But there’s also plenty of new faces on board too as Diego Calva, Camila Morrone, Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi, Noah Jupe and Hayley Squires have all also joined the spy drama.
Hugh Laurie will return as an executive producer of the series alongside Hiddleston, but it’s not yet known if he will reprise his role as notorious criminal Roper. We can hope, though.

When will season two of The Night Manager be available to watch?
The two new series are due to begin filming later this year, so a 2025 release date seems most likely. We do know, however, that it will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
In the meantime, series one is available to watch on BBC iPlayer in the UK and on Prime Video globally.
