In the mood for a spine-tingling new thriller series? The Madness might be just the thing…

The weather is more than providing the chills at the moment, so it’s time to factor in some TV-induced thrills. Thankfully, Netflix is providing the goodies in the form of The Madness.

Starring Emmy winner Colman Domingo, the series – which has been described as a “suspenseful post-truth thriller” – is set to hit the streaming platform on Thursday 28 November. And it kicks off (as is customary with this genre) with a murder mystery.

Watch the trailer for The Madness below:

Interest piqued? Excellent. Here’s everything you need to know.

What’s the plot of The Madness?

The Madness focuses on Muncie Daniels, a media pundit who accidentally stumbles upon a murder deep in the Pocono woods.

“To survive, he must reconnect with his estranged family and lost ideals,” reads the official synopsis, noting that Muncie must clear his name when he is labelled a suspect in the case.

Who stars in The Madness?

As mentioned already, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star Domingo will take the lead in this one as the aforementioned Muncie. He’s joined by Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, John Ortiz, Tamsin Topolski and Thaddeus J. Mixson.

What are people saying about The Madness?

All about the ‘social media world’ in which we now live, Domingo has stated that this series focuses on people’s preconceived beliefs being challenged in a very big way.

“[It’s about] someone who has very centrist beliefs, and now they’re being thrust into the world to really hard-core believe in something and to reexamine the people that they believed were possible enemies,” he tells Tudum.

“You realise you have more in common with them than you thought you had in the beginning. I think it says a lot about who we are now and what we’re willing to do, and also to look at who’s really pulling the strings and for whose benefit.”

When and where can we watch The Madness?

The Madness will be available to stream via Netflix from 28 November.
