The Husbands: Apple TV+ has announced that a new eight-episode series is currently in production with A24. Here’s everything to know so far about the new TV series.
It’s not often you read a truly original story about love and relationships (and I say that as an avid romance reader), but Holly Gramazio’s The Husbands is exactly that. The New York Times bestselling book is thrilling, witty and so deliciously dark. It’s all about one woman’s journey through many husbands (over 200) after her attic begins magically swapping them out. With a limitless supply of husbands, this novel charts the complexities of love, relationships and identity, with a healthy dash of the strange.
And now, The Husbands will be getting the television treatment. Apple TV+ has announced that the new series is currently in production with A24. Here’s everything to know so far about the new TV series.
What is the plot of The Husbands?
When Lauren returns home to her flat in London late one night, she is greeted at the door by her husband, Michael. There’s only one problem: she’s never seen this man before in her life. As Lauren tries to puzzle out how she could be married to someone she can’t remember meeting, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb and abruptly disappears. In his place, a new husband emerges.
Realizing that her attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands, Lauren confronts the question: If swapping lives is as easy as changing a lightbulb, how do you know you’ve taken the right path? When do you stop trying to do better and start actually living?
Who stars in The Husbands?
Taking on the main role of Lauren is Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple, but no further cast details are known just yet.
Sharing the news on Instagram, author Gramazio said: “So about this, and not totally sure I’m not making it up: A24 are making a TV show of The Husbands for Apple TV, with Juno Temple as Lauren… What an amazing dream with a bunch of brilliant people.”
When will The Husbands be released?
As the eight-episode series is in the early days of production, it’s likely we’ll be waiting a while until The Husbands lands on Apple TV+. Be sure to watch this space for any new details.
