Stacey Solomon is every bit as famous for her sunny outlook on life as she is her music and television career. It makes sense, then, that she has much the same approach to Christmas as Buddy the Elf or the Whos of Whoville: she absolutely loves it.
Still, the thrifty star doesn’t believe that Christmas should cost the earth – far from it, in fact. And so, while others might fork out for designer decorations or a fancy festive fir, Solomon has come up instead with some seriously clever ways to cut costs and upcycle over the holidays.
The result? Why, it’s Stacey Solomon’s Crafty Christmas, of course, an hour-long special on the BBC filled to the brim with brilliant gifts and DIY decorations that won’t blow the budget.
Which, considering we’re still smack-bang in the middle of a cost of living crisis, is no small feat.

What is Stacey Solomon’s Crafty Christmas about?
This year, Solomon sets out to transform a neighbouring barn into a Christmas grotto to host a festive party for volunteers in the local area, all of whom have been working hard to support those in need.
She’s not going it alone, however: you can expect to see the likes of her children, her sister, her husband Joe Swash, the local Women’s Institute and her nonagenarian grandmother mucking in to help out where they can.
Solomon will also have her Sort Your Life Out co-star Dilly Carter on hand to ensure the party is a roaring success.
“Crafting a range of ingenious money-saving makes from Nutcracker figures made from household items to stunning Christmas Pudding wreaths and hand-made festive lanterns to personalised presents, foraged decorations and a very special home-made gift for Joe, can Stacey pull off her most ambitious Christmas craft party yet?” reads the official synopsis.

Speaking about the show’s return, Solomon says: “I’m so excited to bring Crafty Christmas back this year! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to craft.
