A plane crashes in the Mexican jungle and each passenger mysteriously dies one by one. Here’s everything you need to know about the tense and claustrophobic Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue.
From films like Cillian Murphy’s Red Eye to shows such as The Castaways, there’s something about being confined to a plane for several hours that makes for a stressful and tense scenario for a thriller. Adding to the growing list of flight-based thrillers is Anthony Horowitz’s latest BBC series, Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue.
Set on a plane that crashes in the Mexican jungle, things become tense and claustrophobic very quickly as each passenger mysteriously dies one by one. If, like me, you’re intrigued by the world of plane crashes and murder mysteries, here’s everything to know about Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue.
What is the plot of Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue?
In the six-part series, a plane carrying a small group of passengers (plus crew and pilot) crashes in the Mexican jungle. “All the bodies are recovered and placed in a morgue… but it turns out that only one of them died in the crash. The other passengers were murdered afterwards, each one in a unique way.
But by whom? And why? As the story unfolds in flashback, we meet the survivors as they fight against the heat, a shortage of supplies, the many dangers of the jungle and each other,” reads the BBC synopsis.
Written by Anthony Horowitz, the author and screenwriter is best known for writing the Alex Rider books, which were adapted into a Prime Video series. He also wrote Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders, which have also received the small-screen treatment.
Who will star in Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue?
The ensemble cast includes Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Perception), David Ajala (Star Trek: Discovery) as Zack, Lydia Wilson (The Swarm) as Sonja, Peter Gadiot (Yellowjackets) as Carlos, Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls) as Lisa, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist) as Travis, Adam Long (Happy Valley) as Dan and Jan Le (The Capture) as Amy.
When will Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue be released?
Filming only started recently, so it’s likely going to be a while until the new series lands on our screens.
