Get ready for an unsettling ride: Netflix has confirmed Black Mirror season six is coming very, very soon. Here’s everything we know about the new series so far, including the brand new trailer.
It’s been a long time coming, but almost four years since Black Mirror season five landed on Netflix, the streaming service has announced a sixth season of Charlie Brooker’s anthology series is on its way.
Over the years, the show has earned a cult following due to its unsettling portrayal of tech-filled worlds – and if the trailer for Black Mirror season six is anything to go by, we’re certainly in for more disquieting storylines.
Here’s everything we know about Black Mirror season six so far – including when it’s set to hit screens.

As is to be expected with Black Mirror, we don’t know much about what you can expect when the series arrives. However, we do know it’ll be something unexpected.
In fact, the series has been described as “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet” by Netflix. And in an interview with the streaming platform’s editorial platform Tudum, Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker revealed that he even surprised himself while making the latest instalment of the show.
“I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people – and myself – or else what’s the point? It should be a series that can’t be easily defined, and can keep reinventing itself,” Brooker said.
“Partly as a challenge and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect,” he continued.
“Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes, we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is. The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through – but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before.”

Perhaps the most exciting part of the Black Mirror season six announcement was finding out about all the famous faces who are in the cast – and there are a lot of them.
Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy is one name that sticks out for us, as well as Industry’s Myha’la Herrold, I May Destroy You’s Paapa Essiedu and Yesterday’s Himesh Patel.
Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, David Shields, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin and Zazie Beetz are also set to star.
Is there a trailer for Black Mirror season 6?
Yes – after an earlier teaser, a full length trailer is here and it’s jam-packed with action. You can watch it below:
And if initial reactions are anything to go by, we’re in for a treat (or should it be trick?) of a season.
“I’m not gonna lie, this trailer gave me straight up goosebumps. Netflix, never stop investing in this show,” commented one viewer.
“This could potentially be the best season yet,” added another.
When and where will Black Mirror season 6 be released?
