Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a celebrity (usually Mariah Carey, sometimes Bill Murray) donning a Santa hat to host a holiday special. This time around, it’s the turn of Sabrina Carpenter, and the chart-topping musician is joining forces with some seriously talented musicians to – ahem – jingle our bells.

That’s right; A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter will see our eponymous singer belt out hits from her festive release Fruitcake, as well as some other chart-topping holiday covers. Which means, yes, you can expect her to perform duets with Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain and Kali Uchis, to name just a few.

You can also expect appearances from a whole host of stars, including Nico Hiraga, Quinta Brunson, Cara Delevingne, Kyle Mooney, Megan Stalter, Sean Astin, Owen Thiele, and Jillian Bell. Phew.

It looks as if Carpenter, whose star has shone incredibly brightly this year, will be making nice with jolly old St Nick himself… even if he does decide to add his own twist to Espresso.

“The holidays have always been so special to me,” Carpenter told Tudum of the much-anticipated special. 

“I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show – infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me.”

A Netflix spokesperson added: “It’s a nonsense holiday and we’re so here for it… this special will also feature showstopping music performances, comedic guests, unexpected duets, plus many more surprises and fun cameos.”

A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter arrives on Netflix in the United Kingdom on 7 December at 2:00am.
