It’s time to pack away the pumpkins and terrifying costumes because the Christmas adverts are now in full swing and it’s got us feeling rather festive. Yes, it’s only November, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas, right? Launching its Christmas campaign Love Thismas (Not Thatmas), M&S premiered its advert packed with famous faces including Hannah Waddingham and Sophie Ellis-Bextor yesterday, and now the retailer is back once again.

For its second festive offering, M&S Food has brought back Dawn French’s Fairy, who is now joined by two new characters – the Mittens – voiced by none other than actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Named Left and Right, Fairy attempts to cheer up the two mittens after being separated from their child owner, Lilly, and getting lost in the snow.

The advert is packed with zooming and dancing around the house as they discover the M&S Food Christmas selection, ending with quite the feast. And it doesn’t just stop there, either.

M&S Food has created a mini-series for its Christmas advert and an additional five 30-second episodes being released over the festive period, ending on New Year’s Eve. So, we can expect to hear a lot more from Reynolds and McElhenney.

Alongside the ad, M&S Food has also announced that it will kick off its first-ever local football club partnership, joining forces with Wrexham AFC. A partnership that feels like a full circle moment as M&S opened its very first store in the city back in 1936.

The next instalment of the advert will drop on 13 November. Watch this space.
