If you loved Marian Keyes’s heartwarming and hilarious novel Grown Ups, we have some great news: the bestseller is being adapted for television. Netflix will bring Keyes’s messy and very relatable characters to the screen in a new series and we’re excited to see them brought to life.

Grown Ups is a family drama based on three couples: Nell and Liam, Cara and Ed, and Jessie and Rory. And the Caseys are a complicated family, to say the least. So, here’s everything we know so far about the new Netflix series.

What is the plot of Grown Ups?

Based on the novel, Jessie, Cara and Nell are married to brothers Rory (Johnny in the book), Ed and Liam Casey. Three different women married to three very different men. However, when Cara is seemingly suffering from a concussion, family secrets start to spill out at the dinner table.

“Ever-shifting politics. Old and new resentments. Arguments that blow over quickly and hurts that are nursed forever. They’re loyal. Noisy. And bound together by a whole lot of love,” reads the Netflix synopsis.

On the adaptation, author Keyes said: “I screamed when I got this news! It’s thrilling that See-Saw and Netflix are bringing Grown Ups to the screen – they’ve already brought me so much pleasure as a viewer… Honest to God, I’m overjoyed.”
