Now, the Netflix show is on its third season and more details have been revealed as to what we can expect from the next chapter of Nick and Charlie’s relationship.

The coming-of-age story about the teenage love between Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) instantly found a place in all our hearts when the first season of Heartstopper was released back in 2022. And, like all heartwarming stories, fans immediately wanted more from the Netflix series. Now, the hit show is on its third season and more details have been revealed as to what we can expect from the next chapter of Nick and Charlie’s relationship.

Here’s everything to know about the third season of Heartstopper, including when we can expect to watch it on our screens.

What is the plot of Heartstopper S3?

Fans have previously had a sneak peek at the title of the first episode of season three, suitably called Love. The new series will pick up where season two left off: with Charlie eager to tell Nick that he loves him and Nick holding back on telling Charlie something important.

“As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties, and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan,” reads a Netflix synopsis.

Who will star in Heartstopper S3?

Among the returning faces, several new characters will be joining the Heartstopper cast. Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) will play Nick’s aunt, Diane, who takes Nick on a summer holiday to Menorca and “has some tough advice to impart about his relationship”, writer and series creator Alice Oseman told Netflix.

Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, Fair Play) will play beloved graphic novel character Geoff, Charlie’s wise and straight-talking therapist; Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton) will feature as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous classicist and Charlie’s celebrity crush; and Darragh Hand will play Michael Holden, a character who is also a protagonist in Oseman’s first novel, Solitaire.

However, it was confirmed that Sebastian Croft (who plays Ben) won’t be returning for the new series.

Is there a trailer for Heartstopper S3?

Yes, and get ready to be excited. The official trailer has us all in our feels. The trailer teases a whole lot of teen angst and emotion. Everyone seems a little worried about Charlie, while Nick tries his best to be there for him. “I really love him,” he says tearfully at one moment. Oh yeah, and we get our first glimpse of Jonathan Bailey as the “really hot” Instagram star. And yes, he is “really hot”.

When will Heartstopper S3 be released?

The third season will land on Netflix on 3 October. You can watch the date announcement video below, which includes an exclusive snippet of Billie Eilish’s Birds Of A Feather from the upcoming album Hit Me Hard And Soft.
