Gen V: The Boys meets Wednesday? Say hello to this hilarious (and gory) college drama

Not to get all Hamilton about it, but who lives, who dies, who graduates from Godolkin University School of Crime Fighting? It’s time to find out in Gen V.
Harry Potter learned spellcraft at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. The X-Men received their training at Xavier’s School for Gifted Children. And Wednesday Addams, of course, joined her fellow outcasts in honing her… well, her unique set of skills at The Nevermore Academy.
It makes sense, then, that the ‘supes’ (aka the superheroes) of The Boys universe need a special college of their own, too. The Godolkin University School of Crime Fighting, however, isn’t run by an elusive headteacher with their pupils’ best interests at heart.
Instead, it’s run by Vought International – a multi-billion dollar superhero entertainment conglomerate that has only one thing on its mind: profit.
Is it any wonder, then, that so very many students die before graduation?

Institutional racism? Murderous rivalries? Fists that go all the way through people’s skulls and out the other side?
Yeah, we think Jaz Sinclair’s Marie Moreau put it best: everything really is fucked at this college.
What is Gen V about?
As mentioned already, Godolkin University is a prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes (preferably with lucrative endorsements).
And, when the aforementioned Marie Moreau – a blood bender with a tragic past, in case you were wondering about her trippy-looking powers – becomes one of the highest-rated supes on campus, she soon finds herself attracting some unwanted attention.
“Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities,” teases the official synopsis, describing the series as “part college show, part-Hunger Games – with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys”.
It can’t all just be student rivalries, though: indeed, it’s not long before our core group of supes soon discovers that something far bigger and more sinister is going on at their school. But how will they respond to these unexpected forces of evil?
We suppose only time will tell if they prove themselves to be the heroes or the villains of their stories…
Who stars in Gen V?
Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina) takes the lead in this one as Marie Moreau. She stars opposite fellow co-ed Emma, a supe called Little Cricket played by Lizze Broadway, and Chance Perdomo’s Andre Anderson – who just so happens to have a famous superhero parent in Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas).
They are joined by Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi.

As if that weren’t enough star power for you, Gen V also features guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, as well as appearances from The Boys’ Jessie T Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and PJ Byrne.
What are people saying about Gen V?
Executive producer Seth Rogen, speaking with Empire, promises: “Gen V has some really crazy shit in it.”
Sinclair, meanwhile, is a little more expansive in her commentary on the much-anticipated series, telling Prime Video: “In the Gen V world, the kids are still idealistic. They’re not fully formed into either a hero or a villain. For me, that was a really interesting topic and a really interesting time in all of their lives because I feel like it gives us a chance to know where everybody came from and to watch the unfolding of them becoming the kind of hero that they’re going to become.”
She adds: “I just find it fascinating because it humanises everyone. It humanises the people making the good choices, and it humanises the people making the bad choices, and I just find that interesting. It leaves a lot of room for potential heartbreak, friendships, and stuff that wouldn’t be possible if we were all fully-fledged adults.”
Crazy shit indeed.
When can we watch Gen V?
