Máiréad Tyers, Luke Rollason, Bilal Hasna and Sofia Oxenham are all set to return to their roles in the second season of Extraordinary. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming series.
Superhero-led TV shows and films can be huge action-packed blockbusters but they often get a little repetitive after a while, especially when they follow similar characters and storylines. However, one series that debuted last year has put its own twist on the genre. Extraordinary, created and written by Emma Moran, is based in a world where everyone over the age of 18 develops a power. Everyone, that is, except for 25-year-old Jen, who remains powerless.
In exciting news, the series was confirmed for a second season and we now have first-look images at Jen and the gang. So, here’s everything to know about season two of Extraordinary.
What’s the plot of Extraordinary S2?
Picking up where the first season left off, Jen is still on her powers journey and, after enrolling as a client at the power clinic, she realises the process isn’t as easy as she’d hoped. Adding to her stress, other parts of her life don’t seem to be going to plan either.
Ex-cat, now-boyfriend Jizzlord has had an unexpected revelation about his past, and Kash and Carrie are attempting to be mature and dignified about their recent breakup, which isn’t easy when they’re still living under the same roof. “It seems that Jen and the gang are dealing with new levels of adulting and chaos that none of them are prepared for,” reads the synopsis.

Who stars in Extraordinary S2?
Máiréad Tyers, Luke Rollason, Bilal Hasna and Sofia Oxenham are all set to return to their roles. Joining them is Siobhán McSweeney and Robbie Gee as Mary and Ian, Jen’s mum and stepdad.
There’ll be some new faces, too. Julian Barrett will play George, Jen’s power coach at the Discovery Clinic; Rosa Robson is Nora, an unexpected person from Jizzlord’s past; Kwaku Mills is Clark, Carrie’s new work colleague; and Derek Jacobi will voice a special cameo role.
When will Extraordinary S2 be released?
The series will premiere on 6 March on Disney+ in the UK. In the meantime, you can catch up with the first season on the streaming platform.
