Dead Hot is a story of love, loss and friendship… but with a dark twist.

Fresh off her leading actor Bafta nomination for Rye Lane, Vivian Oparah is set to return to our screens in something a little different. She’s swapping the world of romcoms for the grit and tension of a thriller in Prime Video’s upcoming series Dead Hot. And we’re rather excited.

The show is set to be a queer comedy thriller and delves into the themes of class, love and identity through the friendship of Elliot and Jess, who are bonded by the trauma of losing Peter, Elliot’s first love and Jess’s twin brother. So, here’s everything we know so far about Dead Hot.

What’s the plot of Dead Hot?

Set in present-day Liverpool, five years after Peter mysteriously disappears, two best friends, Elliot and Jess, spiral into a hedonistic lifestyle, partying to numb their grief while clinging to the hope that they one day might discover the truth behind Peter’s disappearance.

When Elliot begins a new relationship with Will, he finally starts to put the past behind him. Well, that is until he discovers that Will has dark secrets of his own. Meanwhile, Jess is also dealing with some strange issues, having recently been contacted by someone claiming to be Peter, setting off a chain of events that leaves the two friends questioning whether Elliot is romantically cursed – or being targeted.
