The comedy about a family of doomsday preppers is coming back to Channel 4. Here’s what we know about series two so far…
I’m not sure if it’s the vision of Simon Bird rocking the perfect bowl cut, a drunk woman throwing up in some cremated ashes or a disturbed child’s drawings of his own father being dissolved in a bath of acid, but I was fiercely devoted to the first season of doomsday comedy Everyone Else Burns. The six-part series is a brilliantly irreverent and bizarre coming-of-age story, so I’m thrilled that Channel 4 has just announced that the god-fearing Lewis family are starting to film a new season of the comedy.
Here’s what we know about it so far…

What’s the plot of Everyone Else Burns series two?
Season one followed the Lewis family, members of the puritanical Order of the Divine Rod, as they got ready for the end of the world. And while the apocalypse proper never came, things did get turned upside down.
Rachel began to explore life outside the cult by getting a phone, starting her first relationship and applying for university – much to her parents’ chagrin. And wife Fiona was on a similar voyage of discovery, with her frowned-upon merch business thriving. David was frustrated that he wasn’t making the progress he wanted within the sect despite his best efforts, so thank goodness the rabidly devoted Aaron went through with his baptism.
And season two will see even more challenges to the Lewises’ commitment to The Order, particularly for Rachel, who is threatened by an arranged marriage. And as the distance between David and Fiona grows ever wider, can they reignite the spark? Aaron has his eye on the future and has grand plans to bring The Order into the modern day. Good luck there, pal…

Who stars in Everyone Else Burns series two?
Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners), Kate O’Flynn (Landscapers), Amy James-Kelly (Military Wives) and Harry Connor (Robin And The Hoods) will all be back, along with Kadiff Kirwan (Slow Horses) and Morgana Robinson (The Windsors) as neighbour Melissa.
The new series will also have a very special new addition to the cast. Fleabag star Sian Clifford will play Maude, a new member of The Order, whose presence threatens to upend everything (once again) that the family knows. Perfect!

When can I watch series 2 of Everyone Else Burns?
The show has only just started filming, so we don’t know when we can expect to be reunited with the Lewis family. We’ll keep you updated when we know more, but for now, catch up on season one on Channel 4 here.
