Bad Sisters was originally intended as a one-off.

The pitch-black comedy on Apple TV+ about the Garvey sisters – and the murder of one of their awful husbands – was one of our favourite shows of 2022, and also scored a rare 100% fresh review on Rotten Tomatoes (meaning the critics approved), as well as accruing a raft of Bafta TV nominations.

Thankfully Sharon Horgan, the show’s creator and one of its stars, has seen the light, and fans will get to revisit the murderous siblings this Autumn as we head back to Dublin. She told The Radio Times: “I had no intention of doing any more, but while we were on set I kept thinking of this one idea that could be a possible second season. The first series did have a lovely end, but I think when you kill a man, when you put yourself through that – and there were five of them in it – life is going to change. You don’t just dust yourself off and get on with your life. I was interested in what would happen to these women next. And we’ll find out.”
