Sarah Jessica Parker has delighted Sex and the City fans by giving a long-awaited updated about season three of And Just Like That... 

Last summer, just days before the season two finale aired and that long-awaited Kim Cattrall cameo appearance occurred, HBO announced that Carrie, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) would return as the spin-off series had been renewed for another season. 

Now, Parker has put us all out of our misery with a much-needed update, as she confirmed that filming for the third season is officially underway. 

On Instagram, the actress shared a photo of her script for the upcoming season, artfully hiding the episode titles, to simply read number 301 and 302, as well as her name plaque with the caption: “Here. We. Go. X, SJ.”

She also tagged her long-time co-stars Nixon and Davis, as well as series regular Mario Cantone, Nicole Ari Parker and Sarita Choudhury. It has been confirmed that Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez will not be returning as Che Diaz for this next season as Miranda’s love interest. Similarly, Nya Wallace actress Karen Pittman will not appear in the third season due to scheduling conflicts. 

However, there has been one new addition to the cast with comedian Rosie O’Donnell. She revealed her new character on social media by sharing her copy of the top-secret script and a photo of her character sporting a stylish grey bob. 

O’Donnell also revealed the title for the first episode is ‘Outlook Good’ and teased in the caption: “Here comes Mary #andjustlikethat @hbo.” 

Naturally, we won’t know for a while exactly what will take place in the next series of And Just Like That… or who else might be joining this iconic trio for their third season. 

When the show was renewed for another season last year, executive producer and showrunner Michael Patrick King said via a press statement per Variety: “We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex And The City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors. And Just Like That… here comes season three.”

We can’t wait to see what lies ahead for our favourite New York City trio. Now that filming has started, it seems hopeful that it won’t be too much longer until there’s a confirmed release date. Watch this space.
