Get your cosiest jumpers, your longest scarves and your thickest eyeliner. Yes, we are being 100% faithful with you – The Traitors is officially coming back to our screens this winter.

The BBC has just announced the premiere date of the hit reality show’s third season – and naturally, we could not be more excited to dive back into the wonderful world of cloaks, castles and Claudia Winkleman.

Winkleman will return to host the show, which sees a group of regular Brits gathering in a gloomy Gothic manor in the Scottish Highlands where they are tasked with weeding out the ‘traitors’ from the ‘faithfuls’ before the traitors ‘kill’ all of the faithfuls. If they successfully eliminate all of the traitors, the faithfuls share the cash prize. However, if there’s still a traitor in their midst, they’ll snatch everything. That is, of course, what happened in last season’s epic finale when Harry successfully fooled Mollie and took home all of the prize money.

It was gripping stuff, and we are more than ready for another season. After all, it’s become something of a winter tradition.

When is The Traitors coming back to our screens?

Mark your calendars, because The Traitors will be back on BBC one and iPlayer on New Year’s Day at 8pm.

When will The Traitors air?

After the premiere on Wednesday 1 January 2025, the show will air on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The first two episodes will air at 8pm, while all other episodes will air at 9pm.

Yes! The teaser trailer is a delightfully dramatic taster of all of the cloaks, lanterns, dungeons and jumpers heading our way.

What can we expect from season 3 of The Traitors?

This season will feature another group of civilians (the UK celebrity version is still planned for a later date) competing for the £120,000 prize. 

Fans can also rest assured that Winkleman will be returning as host – even though she initially had her doubts. Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Winkleman said, “I was reluctant to do the second, and now I’m extra reluctant to do the third. Like, guys, just leave it! It did OK, leave it. And they just say no, the head of the BBC, I told you, she just leant forward and took my temperature.”
